Fox’s X-Men spin-off is expanding its cast.

It was revealed today that actors Gina Carano and T.J. Miller will be joining the comic film lead by Ryan Reynolds in the title role.

In the film Reynolds will play the character of a mercenary who, dying of cancer, undergoes a surgical procedure that instead of curing the desease, scars his entire body, while also giving him superpowers.

Gina Carano is reportedly playing a Marvel character known as Angel Dust, while T.J. Miller is believed to be bringing some comic relief to the film in a role that has not yet been specified. The project is expected to begin production in Vancouver this March, under the direction of Tim Miller.

Yesterday, Reynolds decided to give fans a sneak peak at the prototype of the Deadpool mask via his Twitter account, highlighting the fact that there’s now only a exact year to go before the release of the film.

The film is eyeing a February 2016 release, and if everything goes according to plan, it will be the first of three X-Men films to be released that year. On May 2016 theaters across the world will debut Apocalypse, the follow up to last year’s hugely successful Days of Future Past. Finally, a few months later in October, Fox has scheduled the release of a Gambit solo film, starring Channing Tatum.
